Summer - time to speculate

Three hundred and sixty four days.

Thats a long time.

Long enough to grow a beard to your waist.

Long enough to have a child.

Long enough to travel the world.

Long enough to fall in love. Break up. Get back to together. Break up again, then get back.... you get the picture.

Exactly 364 days from now Vancouver will welcome the world and play host to the winter Olympic games.

Seeing as its so close to the date, no better time to start speculating about Canada`s mens hockey team. Right?

With a year to go before the games even begin, the burning question on TSN, Sportsnet, The Score and many sports radio shows.
Who should be in goal for Canada three hundred and sixty four days from now!

Thats the headline sports story across Canada!

Talk about a slow day at the office.

Since its such a hot topic and time is running out, lets review.

Martin Brodeur. Injured all season. He`s out.

Carey Price, Roberto Luongo or Marty Turco. Nope too inconsistent all season. To Risky.

Mike Smith in Tampa Bay. Who?

Steve Mason.
Huh? That rookie in Columbus?
Ya the rookie. He`s having a better 2009 then anyone else.
Yep he`s the number one guy. Go with the rookie with half a season of NHL experience.

Seriously people. Canada`s obsession with hockey is sickening. The bloody games are three hundred and sixty four days away and this is the main subject of discussion across Canada!

The NHL season is still underway in case people hadn`t noticed.
Come on. You got to spread it out Canada. Don`t use up all the good fodder mid season. What else will Canadian`s have to talk about all summer.

Micheal Phelps: CRIMINAL

What kind of world do we live in?

Olympic hero Micheal Phelps is in hot water(no pun intended), over a photo that was posted on the internet of him smoking from a bong.
The fourteen time gold medal winner has been dropped from Kelloggs, a cereal company that has held many of his major endorsements, claiming that his behavior is " not consistant with the image of Kellogg".

Who is Kellogg kidding?!
Marijuana smokers make up a good portion of Kellogg's sales. Besides kids, who else you think is eating a bowl of sugar in the morning?

Phelps losing Kellogg's is understandable. Really the funniest part of this shame, is the real chance that Phelps could face criminal charges from some cowboy southern police chief. This is real life Big Brother people!
George Orwell may have well been Nostradamus.

Let this be a warning to all those Facebook or My Space users with photos of themselves smoking the herb.
YOU ARE A CRIMINAL!
Take down those photos now, or you too may face the consequences.

I can't wait for the day that a pro athlete takes a stand about marijuana, and says.... "i smoke weed. I'm doing just fine."
Ask former NBA forward Charles Oakley about marijuana use in the NBA. Heck try Dallas Mavericks Josh Howard. He'll give you an idea of whats up round the league.

Marijuana has no performance enhancing attributes.
If anything it makes you not want to play sports. Something surely Micheal Phelps has never had a problem motivating himself to do.

If Phelps was photoed drunk and making a fool of himself it would be considered bad by the media but socially exceptable, because hey drinking alcohol is legal and doesn't destroy lives or families, better yet sports careers like marijuana does.
